Scam Alert

Post Date:06/15/2023 11:55 PM
Imagine your loved one calls. Their phone number pops up on your phone. Your person tells you that they are in some dire situation and need you to provide funds. It was your loved one's number and voice so it must be legit, right? Well...maybe not.

As technology advances, so do tactics criminals use to swindle innocent victims from their hard-earned money. Using AI, criminals can replicate a family member or loved one’s voice, disguise their phone number to look like it is your loved one calling, and then attempt to get you to provide money for an urgent matter. They often say they need the money urgently to post bail or for a medical emergency. They will place a lot of pressure to keep the victim on the phone and get them to provide funds.
