OCEANSIDE, CA — On November 21, at 6:15 pm, officers responded to the report of an unresponsive 83-year-old female in the 300 block of Talon Ridge Way.  Upon their arrival, officers found the adult female resident deceased.  Based on the evidence located in the residence, officers determined she was the victim of a homicide.  The decedent’s identity is being withheld at this time at the request of the family. 

Detectives from the Crimes of Violence Unit responded to take the lead on the investigation. Through their work, detectives identified a 25-year-old male neighbor who they believe is responsible for the homicide. He was arrested this afternoon on suspicion of murder and will later be booked into Vista County Jail. Detectives determined this was an isolated incident and there is no further threat to public safety.
