OCEANSIDE, CA — On March 22, 2016, at approximately 10:05 p.m., Oceanside police officers responded to a report of a shooting in the 400 block of S. Freeman Street.  Officers arrived on scene and found the victim, Brandon Keiser, a 35-year-old Oceanside resident, lying on the sidewalk in front of 410 S. Freeman Street.  Keiser suffered multiple gunshot wounds and was pronounced dead at the scene.  

Witnesses described the suspect vehicle as a smaller, dark colored, 4-door sedan with a single, red-light bar across the trunk, connecting the two taillights. This description is like that of a 2013-2016 Dodge Dart. On the night of the murder, Keiser returned home after purchasing a pizza from Domino’s Pizza at 301 Mission in downtown Oceanside. Police are asking for any witnesses who may have interacted with Keiser in or around the pizza shop or witnessed anything suspicious in this area.

Law enforcement is also investigating the possibility that Keiser’s murder is connected to another shooting that occurred three weeks earlier on Feb. 27, 2016, in San Marcos, California. This was an attempted murder of a Hispanic Male Adult that occurred at around 11 p.m. at 349 Palm Road, near the campus of Palomar College in San Marcos. Anyone with information on this case is also asked to contact the police.

San Diego County Crime Stoppers is offering a $1,000 reward for information that leads to an arrest in this case. The Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms, and Explosives has offered a $10,000 reward, for a total of $11,000, for information leading to the arrest and conviction of the person/persons responsible for the murder of Brandon Keiser.
