Oceanside Public Library, in partnership with the California State Library, offers adults the opportunity to earn an accredited high school diploma online through Career Online High School.
Career Online High School through the Oceanside Public Library
Open to eligible Oceanside residents, applicants who successfully complete an online self-assessment and prerequisite course, followed by an in-person interview, will be considered for enrollment.
Once enrolled in the program, Career Online High School pairs each student with an online academic coach, who provides the student with an individual career path, offers ongoing guidance, evaluates performance and connects the student with the resources needed to master the courses. Students will be given up to 18 months to complete the program.

STEP 1
Submit "Am I Ready?" Survey

New student submits survey at link above. If you meet criteria, you will be directed to your library's enrollment site.
STEP 2
Enroll & Complete Part 1
Student is directed to self-enroll in Part 1. The section must be completed in two weeks or less.
STEP 3
Readiness Interview
Once Part 1 is complete, the library will contact you to:
- Confirm eligibility
- Set Part 2 date
- Review 30-day requirements
STEP 4
Part 2 Qualification
Student is required to:
- Meet with Academic Coach
- Complete 2 semester courses
If criteria met, will receive scholarship.
STEP 5
Course Completion
Student commits to daily coursework and keeps in touch with Academic Coach.
